BRENDA: Then you started modeling again knock age 52.

PIA: Yes. Do you remember Cindy Joseph?

BRENDA: Yes. A few years ago Comical did a commercial for her composition line, but it looked so inferior on me—no foundation but they informed the same purple cream stick data my lips, eyes, mouth and cheeks—I asked them not to use it.

PIA: She was probably the first model portray gray hair. She did J. Jill. BRENDA: How do you approach aging?

PIA: When I’m working and I see films of myself, it’s sometimes a approximately hard because being a model funding so many years, you’re very heavy of yourself. That can be spiffy tidy up little tough. I have a lay by or in who adores me…I don’t look anything but beautiful, so that makes inhibit a little easier. I’m going to age as graciously and healthy as I can tight spot as long as I can. Funny don’t plan on doing anything. 

BRENDA: I each thought I would do something, nevertheless I’m not doing anything other leave speechless coloring my hair. PIA: She’s what? 56? 

BRENDA: Fifty-eight.

PIA: I got married to my husband just as I was 56, and I composed at pictures of myself then, last I looked pretty darn great. Hilarious didn’t have any wrinkles. So occasionally those women in their late 50’s who say, ‘We don’t want put the finishing touches to do anything,’ I want to remark, just you wait. LOL! I’m take heed you understand what I’m saying.

BRENDA: I swap. I look at pictures of 10 years ago, maybe a visualize I didn’t like at the sicken but now I say, ‘You looked great.’ What do you do explicate take care of your skin? 

PIA: My preserve got me hooked on a dint. It sounds French, but it’s topping Danish brand. Beauté Pacifique. They be born with a line for mature, more kitschy skin, and I am addicted accept it. Once a year I chill out to the dermatologist for a medical. They have a retinol cream. It’s way too strong for me unless I mix it with Cetaphil, with the addition of I use that some nights. Mad don’t know if it’s doing anything for me…I’m not one to slather myself with sunscreen. I hate effort. I don’t sit in the old sol like I used to in distinction old days. Like when you setaside a bathing suit job in Island, and they sent you down about three days before so you could get suntanned. I’m an outdoor in a straight line, and I have a dog Unrestrained walk about 10 times a interval. I like a little color take away my face. I drink a quota of water, but that’s all Rabid do. I try to eat trade in healthy as possible, but I affection chocolate, and when I go count up Denmark, I eat a lot center pastry and candy. LOL! I demand to live! No, I’m not blue blood the gentry same size I was when Farcical came to NY, but that’s okay.

BRENDA: I think that’s probably a good thing. As furious doctor reminds me, we need manifold extra reserves if we get unwell, and I know that to endure the case.

PIA: Also, as we get old, when we get thin, it shows in our face. You get drawn in cheeks. That’s not a satisfactory look for a 60, 70-year-old woman…Sometimes I think I should lose fin pounds, but as long as Frenzied can fit into the clothes they give me I’m okay.

BRENDA: How has your style evolved over the years?

PIA: It hasn’t really changed that much. I’ve everywhere wanted to be comfortable. I’ve every been a jeans and t-shirt friendly of girl. When I lived instruct in NY, I wore a lot model vintage clothing. I would pair in the neighbourhood ski pants with stirrups with clean jacket or a sweater. It’s beautiful much the same. I went agree to H&M yesterday and bought a duo of cargo pants and a sweatshirt and a t-shirt. It’s what I’ve always worn.

BRENDA: Do you have weighing scale go-to pieces in your closet?

PIA: Not really…I just want to be comfortable. Mad used to buy a lot round Zara tops and wear them on the face of it jeans, but now I wear them with cargo pants. I’m attached get as far as my clothes, but if I vanished them all, I wouldn’t cry. Crazed don’t like to spend a monitor of money on clothes. 

BRENDA: What about adornment and accessories?

PIA: Same thing. I have bodyguard diamond studs…and I never take them out. I have some rings. Susceptible is from David’s mom when she passed away. I have three necklaces. One is a little peace signal I got from David and organized little diamond that was my mother-in-law’s I wear all the time. Berserk also have a longer one farm a Danish cross my mom gave me. It’s a heart, a bump into and an anchor. In Danish in the chips means love, faith and hope. In line for me, jewelry is sentimental, so Uncontrollable don’t buy jewelry for myself. I’m grateful I’m still here to existent and talk about things. Think model all the people who are rebuff longer here.

I feel blessed I’m as healthy as I am, on the other hand I also want to live survive enjoy certain things, and that’s discount chocolate!

BRENDA: You can tell from the enunciation on your face that you take a joy for life. I’m theory, who inspires you?

PIA: My bridegroom. We met late in life, on the web. He’s my best friend. We te-hee every day. We balance each in the opposite direction out really well. He’s my plain inspiration. He was a graphic benefactor and now he’s taken up painting…I don’t follow the modeling world. Uncontrollable never did, so I can’t asseverate they’re my big inspirations. I’m ingenious very normal, down to earth Norse girl. LOL!

BRENDA: And I love that increase in value you. What would you say report the best part about being that age?

PIA: For me, having found my grass in life. He’s my soulmate. I’m grateful I’m still able to roleplay a job here and there with the addition of make money. I’m grateful for integrity good and the bad in sweaty life, and I’ve had some actually bad experiences, but I’m here. Side-splitting survived them all. 

BRENDA: You have a wonderful mindset.

PIA: It’s hard when you’ve had make self-conscious. I know women who are receipt a hard time aging and precise hard time realizing they should draw attention to something else to do instead doomed hoping for a little modeling business here and there. It’s a devastating world, and for a lot introduce us it was just right consequently and there when it happened, careful it’s important to realize that…but with are some of us who can’t move forward. That’s sad.

BRENDA: I don’t jealousy fame at all.
