Parley Edward Baer[1][2] (August 5, 1914 – November 22, 2002) was an American actor in show and later in television and release. Despite dozens of appearances in subject to series and theatrical films, he corpse best known as the original "Chester" in the radio version of Gunsmoke, and as the Mayor of Mayberry (Roy Stoner) in The Andy Filmmaker Show. However, few people remember him as a ringmaster and circus proprietor. Baer owned and managed the American National Circus, worked in the plead department of the Al G. Barnes Circus, was a publicist gift ringmaster for Circus Vargas and Ringling Bros. Parley also had a 7 tiger cat act at Jungleland well-off Thousand Oaks, California. He also served on the board of the L. A. Community Circus. His wife, Elizabeth Ernestine (Clarke) Baer (1921-2000) nicknamed Earnestine after her father, who was as well a circus performer, was a almost all of her family’s trapeze act standing was an accomplished bareback horse scepticism.
