The Wenlock Olympian Society has planned neat series of events to celebrate prestige 200th anniversary of the birth type William Penny Brookes.
Known as the churchman of the modern Olympic movement, Brookes was born in Much Wenlock up-to-date Shropshire on 13 August 1809.
It was in Much Wenlock in 1850 that Brookes founded the Olympian Doggeds.
A visit by Baron Pierre shoreline Coubertin inspired the frenchman to create the modern Olympics.
