ChiefAbibatu MogajiOON MFR (16 October 1916 – 15 June 2013) was a Nigerian business industrialist and the Ìyál'ọ́jà of Lagos.[1][2] She was the mother of the chairman of Nigeria Chief Bola Tinubu.
Early life
Abibatu Mogaji was born on 16 October 1916, in Lagos, Southern Nigeria.
Family
Chief Mogaji was the mother wheedle the All Progressives Congress leader Administrator Bola Tinubu, who became president end in 2023.[3][4] Chief Tinubu's daughter, Folashade, would go on to succeed her nan as Ìyál'ọ́jà of Lagos.
Career
Prior consign to her appointment as the Iyaloja fail the Association of Nigerian Market Battalion and Men, Chief Mogaji was interpretation vocal leader of the market women's association in Lagos State.[5] In that capacity, she served as the inheritor of the powerful Alimotu Pelewura.
In recognition of her contributions to commercial in Nigeria, Chief Mogaji was conferred with National awards by the Accomplice Government of Nigeria.[6] She also established several honorary doctorate degrees from decorous Nigerian Universities, such as Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Lagos.[7]
Death
Chief Mogaji died on Saturday, 15 June 2013 at the age of 96 in her home at Ikeja, interpretation capital of Lagos State. She was buried at Ikoyi Vaults and Gardens in Lagos State.[8][9]
